VIBRO-METER

Vibro-Meter I/O interface card  –  IOCR

I/O interface card  –  IOCR

Vibro-Meter IOCR / IOC4T series Input/Output Interface Card is a rack-mounted backend interface module designed for Meggitt’s VM600 machinery protection and condition monitoring systems.

Installed at the rear of standard 19-inch VM600 racks (such as ABE04x), the IOCR/IOC4T card operates in tandem with front-mounted processing cards (e.g., MPC4 or CPUR) to route sensor field signals, process analog/digital outputs, and provide onboard relay contacts for automated equipment protection

Product Introduction / Overview

Primary Role: Acts as the physical signal interface between field vibration sensors (proximity probes, accelerometers, velocity transducers) and VM600 processing modules.

Signal Conditioning: Receives raw dynamic vibration and speed signals, passing processed data to rear terminal strips for DCS/PLC integration.

System Protection: Features built-in surge protection, EMI/EMC suppression, and local relay outputs for system alert, danger, and sensor health status.

Hot-Swappable: Supports live rack insertion and removal during continuous plant operation.

Environmental Tolerance Conditions

Operating Temperature: -25°C to +65°C (-13°F to +149°F)

Storage Temperature: -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F)

Relative Humidity: 0% to 95% non-condensing

Vibration & Shock: Meets IEC 60068 standards for harsh industrial, power plant, and offshore machinery environments.

Electromagnetic Compatibility: Fully compliant with IEC/EN 61000-6-2 (Immunity) and IEC/EN 61000-6-4 (Emissions).

Operating Instructions

Rack Slot Alignment: Ensure the IOCR/IOC4T card is installed in the exact rear slot position directly corresponding to its front-panel companion card (e.g., MPC4 or CPUR).

Terminal Wiring: Connect sensor field cables (shielded twisted pair) to the screw-terminal blocks according to channel pinouts. Keep shield grounding strictly connected at one designated point to prevent ground loops.

Jumper Configuration: Set output jumpers on the card PCB prior to power-up for required analog signal formats (0–10 V voltage vs. 4–20 mA current).

Software Configuration: Use VM600 MPSx or VibroSight software to map alarm relay trip points, trip delays, and signal processing parameters.

Fault Diagnosis

No Analog Output Signal: Check onboard DAC jumper configuration, confirm power rail status from backplane, and verify front-card signal processing.

Channel Sensor OK Fault: Inspect field wiring terminal screws for loose connections, verify transducer power supply voltage, and check cable integrity.

Relay Non-Responsive: Verify software alarm configuration settings and ensure relay contact limits (250 VAC / 5 A max) have not been exceeded.

Signal Interference / Noise: Verify cable shield terminations at the rear terminal block and confirm ambient EMI sources are properly isolated.
