B&R X20cHB8884 X20 Compact link selector
This product range covers a broad spectrum of requirements. It combines the performance of an industrial PC with the compact design of the X20 controller series. In addition, this controller generation supports OPC UA over TSN.
The products can optionally be operated without CompactFlash. In this case, the integrated flash drive replaces the functionality of the CompactFlash card. POWERLINK, TSN-enabled standard Ethernet, RS232 and USB are available as integrated interfaces.
As with all X20 controllers, the 250 I/O modules can be connected directly to the controllers and line up seamlessly. Additional interfaces can be added via interface modules.
Feed for X2X Link and internal I/O supply
• Electrical isolation of feed and X2X Link supply
• Redundancy of X2X Link supply possible by operating multiple
supply modules simultaneously

The interface module is used to expand the X20 CPU for specific applications.
It is equipped with an POWERLINK interface.
POWERLINK is a standard protocol for Fast Ethernet equipped with hard
real-time characteristics. The POWERLINK Standardization Group ensures
its openness and continual development.
Systems with redundant cabling can be implemented easily using POWERLINK.
Unlike ring redundancy, cable redundancy does not require cable looping,
which can sometimes be problematic. This allows the creation of all types of tree
structures. When using a device with the link selector function, data is always
transferred via the highest quality network
