The SAMSUNG SMTC-8 is an 8-channel temperature acquisition expansion module designed for Samsung SPC and SM-series PLC automation systems. It converts millivolt signals from thermocouple sensors directly into digital data for CPU processing without requiring external transmitters.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation Guidelines:

Power down the PLC base rack completely before inserting the SMTC-8 module into the expansion slot.

Wire sensors using dedicated thermocouple extension/compensating wire. Keep wires away from high-voltage motor cables and VFD drive lines.

Maintain correct polarity (+ / -) at the terminal block to avoid inverted temperature readings.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

RUN LED Off: Inspect backplane seating and check 24V DC bus power connections.

ERROR LED Blinking: Check for open sensor circuits, loose terminal screws, or out-of-range sensor readings.

Value Drift: Ensure shield wires are grounded at a single point to prevent ground loops
