Installation Method

1.Power & Safety Preparation:Pre-installation check。

Verify that the MICE switch base (e.g., MS20 or MS30) is securely mounted to the standard 35 mm DIN rail and properly grounded via the ground screw.

2.Module Insertion into Backplane:Mechanical alignment。

Align the rear guide rails of the MM20 module with the target slot on the MICE switch base. Push the module firmly until the backplane connector engages completely.

3.Fasten Locking Screws:Secure attachment。

Tighten the top and bottom captive locking screws on the module panel using a flat-head screwdriver to ensure mechanical stability and proper grounding connection.

4.SFP Transceiver Insertion:Optical interface setup。

Insert compatible Hirschmann 100 Mbit/s SFP transceivers into the Z6 SFP slots until they click into position. Remove dust caps prior to connecting fiber cables.

Operating Instructions

Power-On Self-Test (POST): Upon inserting the module into an active base unit, the power LED (P) will illuminate green, indicating successful backplane power delivery.

SFP Compatibility: Ensure only Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) SFPs are used in the Z6 slots. Gigabit SFPs (1000 Mbps) are not supported by MM20 series modules.

Maintenance & Cleaning: Keep protective dust caps installed on unused SFP slots to prevent dust build-up on optical sensors.
