2500-SSB Single Slot Blank Front Panel
The 2500-SSB is used to cover unused slots in the I/O base keep out debris and maintain proper airflow
The rack provide space two power supplies and two RBCs in a redundant configuration. Mounting may be achieved by front or rear mounting hardware.
Power Supply, CPU/RBC, and I/O Location in Base
The power supply must always be installed in the left most slot of the base. To the right of the power sup
ply is a slot for a CPU or RBC. The remaining 4. 8 (shown below) or 16 slots are for I/O or communication
modules. When using a 2500-R11-A, power supplies are located in the left-most two slots. RBCs are
located in the next two slots, followed by up to 11 I/O modules.
Installing the Mounting Base
1. Use the following steps for installing the mounting base.
2. Determine if the base will be mounted with front or rear mounts.
3. Locate the mounting ears in the appropriate front or rear locations with supplied hardware.
4. Mount the base with screws in four ‘ear’ slots (screw hardware not included).
5. Include sufficient distance from other heat sources to maximize convection airflow cooling.
6. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for proper installation and removal of CPU,RBC, and I/O modules.
7. The 2500 Series Bases should be installed in a secured cabinet accessible by using a key or tool.
The cabinet must be suitable for the installation environment.
8. Blank slots not containing a module should be covered by a blank filler panel CTI part #2500-SB.
9. This equipment is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2. Groups A, B, C, D or non-Hazardous Loca
tions only.
Compatibility Notes for 2500-R11-A
1. CTI 2500-RIO-A Remote Base Controllers are compatible with 2500-R11-A
2. CTI 2512 power supplies are not compatible with 2500-R11-A. 2512-A power supplies should be
used instead.
3. CTI 2500 Series® Processors support operation with dual power supplies beginning with V3.21 firm
ware released Sep2008.
4. When using CTI 2500-RIO-A remote base controllers in 2500-R11-A, it is recommended that firm
ware V7.03 or greater is used in the 2500-RIO-A.
5. All CTI CPUs 2500-Cxxx Series will only access the local IO when plugged in the left most CPU slot
of the R-11-A. Contact CTI Support for a more detail explanation of the support provided for more
than one CPU in a 2500-R11-A.
