With the X20c series, B&R is setting new standards for protection against harsh environmental conditions.
This variant of the modular X20 distributed controller and I/O product line is protected against condensation and corrosive gases by a coating on the electronics module.
The modules are suitable for use even in adverse atmospheric conditions.
The coating on the electronics module protects the components and circuit board from the effects of condensation and corrosive gases. The effectiveness of protection against condensation is checked using the test specified in BMW GS 95011-4. and protection against corrosive gases using the 4-part corrosive gas tests specified in EN 60068-2-60. test method 4.
The tests are completed both in the company testing lab, which is accredited in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17025:2007. and at certified external testing facilities.
CANopen ist ein auf CAN basierendes higher Layer Protokoll. Das standardisierte

The X20 Compact-S series of controllers is available in different versions.
In this way, the customer gets the product that best meets the requirements
of the machine both technically and economically.
The controller offers a wide range of communication options via POWERLINK,
Ethernet, USB and RS232. Optional RS485 or CAN interfaces are also available.
If an application requires additional interfaces,
the controller can be modularly expanded with 1 or 2 X20 interface slots.
The interface module is equipped with a PROFINET IO device interface.
This allows the B&R system (I/O modules, POWERLINK, etc.) to be connected to
systems from other manufacturers and makes it possible to quickly and easily
transfer data in both directions.
This allows the use of the entire X20 fieldbus interface product range.
The X20BC8084 POWERLINK bus controller and the X20HB8884 module are
equipped with an integrated link selector function. An additional 1 or 2 slots
are available, depending on the bus base used. The active X20HB2885 hub
expansion module can be operated in these slots.
The active hub expansion module is equipped with one integrated 2x hub and
allows redundant wiring. This means that the connection between the two ports
remains intact if there is a failure in the bus controller or Compact Link Selector.
The status of the module and network are indicated by LEDs.
