Shinkawa UTC-1000 ZUP-02C Board

The Shinkawa UTC-1000 ZUP-02C Board is a high-reliability processor and control card designed by Shinkawa Electric. Functioning as a specialized signal management and communication interface card within Shinkawa’s machinery monitoring and protection architectures, the UTC-1000 ZUP-02C processes real-time condition metrics—such as shaft vibration, axial displacement, and temperature data—from field transducers and routes them to higher-level automation networks and plant DCS platforms.

Core Advantages & Product Features

High-Speed Data Processing: Fast processing capability ensures minimal latency when converting analog sensor values into digital communication protocols for DCS/SCADA integration.

Industrial-Grade Noise Immunity: Built with multi-layer PCB shielding and optoelectronic isolation to withstand harsh electromagnetic interference (EMI) found in power plants.

Continuous Self-Diagnostics: Features onboard watchdog circuitry that monitors board power, execution logic, and bus communications to prevent false system trip alarms.

Seamless Backplane Integration: Plugs directly into standard Shinkawa racks, providing a compact footprint with high backplane communication throughput.

Robust Thermal Stability: Low-power consumption components minimize internal heat generation, extending component lifespan in continuously operating environments.

Model Classification

UTC-1000 (ZUP-02C): Processing and communication control card variant.

UTC-1000 Series: Base processor motherboard family used across VM/UTC monitoring racks.

VM-3D2 / VM-3V2: Thrust and shaft vibration monitor rack modules working alongside UTC processing cards.

VK-202A / VK-202A2: Non-contact eddy-current drivers feeding signal data into the monitoring rack.

Environmental Tolerance Conditions

Operating Temperature: 0°C to +65°C (32°F to 149°F)

Storage Temperature: -30°C to +85°C (-22°F to 185°F)

Relative Humidity: 5% to 95% RH (Non-condensing)

Vibration Immunity: Conforms to IEC 60068-2-6 standard for industrial control cabinets

Shock Resistance: 15g peak acceleration (IEC 60068-2-27)

Enclosure Rating: IP20 (Must be housed inside an IP54-rated industrial cabinet)

Installation Method

Power Isolation: Turn off all main and auxiliary power to the system rack prior to card insertion or removal.

ESD Protection: Wear an anti-static wrist strap grounded to the cabinet frame to prevent static damage to CMOS components.

Rack Insertion: Align the upper and lower edges of the ZUP-02C board with the card guides in the target rack slot. Slide the board in smoothly until the rear multi-pin connector seats firmly into the backplane.

Card Fastening: Tighten the front panel retention screws to lock the board into place against cabinet vibration.

Operating Instructions

Address & Jumper Settings: Ensure hardware DIP switches or configuration jumpers on the ZUP-02C board match system node addresses before energizing the rack.

Diagnostic Verification: Upon powering up the system, confirm that the PWR and RUN LEDs illuminate green, and the FAULT LED remains off.

Routine Servicing: Periodically inspect backplane contacts and ensure cabinet air filters are clean to maintain airflow across the card face.
