SHINKAWA VL-202A08L-1002 Sensor VL-08020L01 Probe Cable F84N1695

Shinkawa VL-202A08L-1002 Proximity Sensor Probe ( paired with VL-08020L01 probe cable, part reference F84N1695) is an industrial non-contact eddy-current transducer assembly designed by Shinkawa Electric. Manufactured for turbomachinery condition monitoring, it continuously measures relative shaft vibration, axial (thrust) position, rotational speed, and phase reference (Keyphasor) on critical rotating assets like steam turbines, gas compressors, and boiler feed pumps.

Product Advantages and Features

High-Precision Linear Measurement: Converts small electromagnetic gap changes into linear output voltages with low thermal drift.

Extreme Environmental Resilience: Encapsulated probe tip withstands high temperatures, continuous oil immersion, and high differential pressure in bearing housings.

Rugged Cable Sheathing: Integrated armor hose shielding prevents physical crushing, abrasion, and mechanical fatigue caused by high-vibration field environments.

Wide Frequency Response: Captures rapid dynamic shaft displacements from static 0 Hz DC position up to 10 kHz high-speed vibration harmonics.

API 670 Standard Compliance: Engineered to integrate seamlessly into API 670 machinery protection systems when matched with Shinkawa VK drivers and VM monitors.

Installation and Maintenance

Mechanical Mounting: Thread the probe into the bearing housing bracket. Ensure the probe face is clean and perpendicular to the target shaft surface.

Electrical Gap Setting: Connect a digital multimeter to the signal terminals of the driver unit (SIG & COM). Adjust physical probe depth until reading the designated electrical mid-range zero voltage (typically -9.0V DC to -10.0V DC).

Locking & Cable Protection: Secure probe lock nuts to prevent loosening from shaft vibration. Route the flexible armored cable with a minimum bend radius of 50 mm.

Connector Care: Clean coaxial connectors with electrical contact cleaner before joining. Insulate connectors using moisture-proof shrink tubing to prevent ground leaks.

Routine Calibration: Inspect probe tip surfaces during annual plant turnarounds for oil sludge buildup or mechanical damage, and check scale factor sensitivity using a micrometer calibration fixture.
