Installation Method
Power Isolation: Turn off main power supplies to the controller rack before inserting or removing the SMAIC-8 module.
Backplane Slot Alignment: Slide the module along the rack guide rails and press firmly until the bus connector seats into the backplane. Secure retaining screws.
Field Shielded Wiring: Connect field transmitters using twisted-pair shielded cables. Ground the cable shield at a single point (system side) to eliminate ground loops.
Range Configuration: Configure hardware jumpers or PLC software parameters to match the connected signal type (4–20 mA vs 0–10V) prior to power-up.
