SAMSUNG SSAS-PRO SPSU-X32 heavy-duty rack-mounted

SAMSUNG SSAS-PRO SPSU-X32 is a heavy-duty rack-mounted power supply unit designed to provide regulated DC power and voltage stabilization for the Samsung SSAS-Pro (Ship Automation System Pro) CPU frames,

backplane buses, and I/O expansion racks. Built specifically for critical marine engine rooms, vessel monitoring systems,

and harsh industrial automation environments, the SPSU-X32 converts dual redundant AC/DC primary inputs into stable,

low-noise internal system power. It features built-in surge suppression, overvoltage protection, and seamless power failover capabilities to ensure uninterrupted controller uptime during generator switches or main power supply fluctuations.

Product Features & Core Advantages

Dual Power Redundancy: Supports seamless failover between dual AC sources or AC/DC battery backup lines to guarantee continuous system uptime.

Marine-Grade Power Conditioning: Features advanced EMI filtering and transient voltage surge suppression to withstand marine diesel generator fluctuations and severe electrical noise.

Hot-Swappable Design: Enables quick online replacement during maintenance without de-energizing or interrupting running CPU control racks.

Integrated Alarm Relays: Includes built-in hardware fault contacts that immediately signal power loss, low output voltage, or module failure to central alarm panels.

Model Classification

SSAS-Pro System & Power Infrastructure Series:

SPSU-X32: Central Backplane Rack Power Supply Unit

RSPC-X32: Main Processing Controller Unit

SPDI-16 / SPDI-24: Digital Input Signal Acquisition Modules

SPDO-16 / SPRDO-16: Transistor & Relay Digital Output Modules

SPAI-16 / SPAO-8: Analog Input & Output Modules

SPRI-16 / SPIRU-16: RTD Temperature & Mixed Universal I/O Modules

Environmental Tolerance Conditions

Operating Temperature: -15°C to +55°C

Storage Temperature: -25°C to +70°C

Relative Humidity: 5% to 95% (non-condensing)

Vibration & Marine Compliance: Certified under major international classification societies (DNV, ABS, LR, KR, NK) for high-vibration shipboard engine room and switchboard installations.

Installation Method

Backplane Insertion: Slide the SPSU-X32 firmly into the dedicated power slot on the SSAS-Pro system rack until the module locks securely into the backplane connector.

AC/DC Line Connection: Wire primary and secondary power supply cables to the heavy-duty input terminal block, observing proper line, neutral, and earth/ground polarity.

Chassis Grounding: Connect the heavy earth grounding lug to the main cabinet ground bar to ensure optimal surge protection and EMI filtering.

Alarm Line Wiring: Connect the power-fail relay output contacts to the central alarm panel or safety monitoring system.

Operating Instructions

Pre-Power Verification: Ensure the input line voltage matches the rated module specification (100–240V AC or 24V DC) prior to applying power.

Status LED Monitoring: Upon powering on, verify the front-panel “POWER OK” indicator shows a solid green light. An amber or unlit LED signals input power loss or an internal output fault.

Redundancy Testing: Periodically test automatic failover by toggling the primary power switch to ensure the secondary backup line instantly assumes the load without resetting the CPU rack.
