SAMSUNG SSAS-PRO SPAO-8 Analog Output Module
SAMSUNG SSAS-PRO SPAO-8 is an 8-channel precision analog output module designed for marine engine control, power management systems, and heavy industrial process automation.
Operating as a core output interface within the Samsung SSAS-Pro (Ship Automation System Pro) architecture,
the SPAO-8 converts digital control commands from central processor units into precise, continuous analog control signals (4–20mA current loops or 0–10V DC voltage outputs).
It drives field control elements such as proportional control valves, speed governors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), positioners, and panel meters with high speed and high accuracy.

Operating Instructions
Output Mode Configuration: Set DIP switches or software settings for each channel to select between 4–20mA current mode or 0–10V DC voltage mode prior to field wiring.
Mounting & Grounding: Latch the module firmly onto the panel 35mm DIN rail or backplane rack. Ensure the grounding clip makes direct metallic contact with the grounded mounting plate.
Field Cable Wiring: Connect control cables (such as shielded twisted pair) to target actuators. Ground cable shielding at one point only to prevent ground loop noise.
Commissioning & Zero/Span Calibration: Apply 24V DC auxiliary power and run zero-point and full-scale calibration through the controller interface to compensate for line resistance.
Fault Diagnosis
Current Loop Open Circuit Alarm: Triggered when a 4–20mA output channel detects an open loop or disconnected cable wiring. Check field connections and actuator load resistance.
Module Power Supply LED Off: Indicates loss of external 24V DC field supply voltage or blown internal power protection fuse.
System Bus Communication Alarm: Indicates loose ribbon/Ethernet bus connections between the SPAO-8 and the primary CPU frame.
Output Signal Drift / Inaccuracy: Check for ambient temperatures exceeding +55°C, poor shield grounding, or field interference from unshielded high-voltage power lines.
