Storage Conditions
Storage & Transport Temp: $-40^\circ\text{C}$ to $+70^\circ\text{C}$ ($-40^\circ\text{F}$ to $158^\circ\text{F}$).
Storage Relative Humidity: 10% to 95% maximum (non-condensing environment).
Environment: Store in a clean, dry, dust-free indoor location inside standard static-shielded packaging.
Operating Instructions
DIN-Rail Mounting: Snap the switch onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail (EN 50022). Verify the top metal catch locks firmly into position.
Power Supply Wiring: Wire dual redundant DC power feeds (12–48 V DC) or 24 V AC into the 6-pin removable terminal block. Ground the switch via the chassis grounding screw to ensure EMC protection.
Fiber & Copper Connections:
Connect single-mode fiber optic cables (9/125 $\mu$m) with SC connectors to ports 1 and 2.
Connect standard RJ45 Cat5e cables to copper ports 3 through 8.
Initial Configuration:
Connect to the switch using HiDiscovery software over Ethernet, or via serial console using the RJ11 (V.24) port.
Access the embedded Web Interface or Command Line Interface (CLI/Telnet) to assign IP settings, configure ring redundancy (HIPER-Ring / MRP), and set VLAN parameters.
Auto-Configuration via USB: Insert an optional ACA21-USB adapter into the USB port to back up device configuration or enable zero-touch field replacement.
Fault Diagnosis & Diagnostic Tools
Diagnostic LEDs Overview: The front panel status LEDs allow rapid hardware and network fault isolation without network software tools.
Power LED Off: Check input voltage on the terminal block and ensure wires are tight.
Error LED On (Red): Indicates a triggered fault relay event (e.g., power loss on one input feed or link loss on a configured port).
Link/Data LED Off: Check cable integrity, verify speed/duplex settings, and ensure fiber SC connectors are properly keyed (TX to RX crossover).
RM / Ring Port LED BGM: Indicates ring redundancy status. Flashing indicates ring breakdown or reconfiguration event.
Advanced Built-In Diagnostics:
Duplex Mismatch Detection: Automatically flags speed/duplex conflicts on connected devices.
Address Conflict Detection: Reports duplicate IP address assignments across the network segment.
Signal Contact (Fault Relay): Built-in potential-free dry contact triggers external alarms/PLC inputs during power or link failure.
Syslog & RMON Logging: Captures network statistics, event logs, and SNMP traps.
