Product Advantages and Features

Fanless and Solid-State Design: Completely free of moving mechanical components, mitigating risk factors related to dust intake, bearing degradation, or marine vibration failures.

Optically Enhanced Display: The 700-nit high-brightness panel paired with wide viewing angles ($88^\circ$ in all directions) ensures that operator screens remain readable under intense tropical glare or high-noon bridge conditions.

Dual Isolated CAN/LAN Interfaces: Built-in galvanic isolation across the dual CAN bus and network ports shields internal logic units from stray grounding loops common to marine metal hulls.

Versatile Console Configurations: Hardware configurations are tailored specifically for targeted physical deployment configurations including Port Wing, Starboard Wing, and ECR (Engine Control Room) panels.

Service Hatch Accessibility: Important storage paths, including the system boot SD card, are housed behind an easily accessible service hatch for rapid maintenance without unmounting the entire console display.

Application Cases

The MPCF1-10.4″ terminal serves as the human-machine interface (HMI) for top-tier marine machinery control lines:

Rolls-Royce Helicon X3 Propulsion Controls: Functions as the primary control display for variable pitch propellers and azimuth thrusters aboard specialized commercial vessels.

Bridge Wing Control Stations: Mounted inside weatherproof starboard/port wing pillars to provide ship captains with responsive docking controls.

Alarm Monitoring Systems (AMS): Configured as a localized visual alarm terminal within machinery spaces or steering gear compartments.

Dynamic Positioning (DP) Interfaces: Acts as an auxiliary sensor overview or control feedback unit linked to the vessel’s primary DP computer network.

Related Models & Same-Series Hardware

Rolls-Royce MPCF1-12.1″ / 15″: Scaled up variants of the core ARM platform featuring identical communication architecture for larger bridge consoles.

Rolls-Royce Marine R10I53S: A legacy 10.4-inch alternative panel PC based on Intel-architecture infrastructure.

Rolls-Royce PCC1030C: A heavy-duty internal panel controller board frequently networked downstream from the MPCF1 display interface via CAN bus.

Rolls-Royce WRC1021B: Hydraulic valve and winch controller card utilized within integrated Marine Brattvaag automation loops.

Installation and Maintenance

Mounting Strategy: For standard control room layouts, utilize flush-mount panel brackets to maintain an IP56 seal across the console surface. If using standard VESA 75/100 mounting arms, ensure the surrounding cabinet environment satisfies IP22 airflow parameters.

Thermal Mitigation: For environments persistently operating above 45°C or within completely sealed, non-ventilated control pulpits, install the low-noise auxiliary fan assembly kit (Art No: 000108285 / 000085452) to extend backlight lifecycle profiles.

Power Isolation: Maintain source DC lines within the strict 18–32V envelope. Always decouple the terminal block before retrieving or swapping the system SD card from beneath the lower service tray.
