UniOP ePAD04-0046 Compact Industrial Interface
UniOP ePAD04-0046 Compact Industrial Interface
The UniOP ePAD04-0046 is a compact, entry-level HMI (Human Machine Interface) designed to replace the legacy MD00 series.
It is a cost-effective solution for providing graphic visualization and operator control in industrial environments where space and budget are limited.
Part of the ePAD family, it focuses on delivering essential data monitoring through a high-contrast monochrome display and a tactile keypad.

Product Advantages and Features
High Legibility: The graphic LCD supports scalable fonts and downloadable icons, making it more flexible than standard character displays.
Low Profile: With a cutout depth of only 53 mm, it is ideal for shallow enclosures and thin cabinet doors.
Vast Protocol Library: Compatible with over 130 communication drivers (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, etc.) via UniOP Designer software.
Tactile Reliability: The mechanical keys provide distinct feedback, making it safer for use in environments where operators wear gloves.
Customization: Features “slide-in” legends for the function keys, allowing users to label buttons specifically for their application.
Unique Product Description
The UniOP ePAD04-0046 is the “minimalist workhorse” of the HMI world. While modern touchscreens often fail in high-vibration or dirty environments, the ePAD04 thrives.
Its unique dual-driver capability (when used with optional modules) allows it to bridge two different PLC networks simultaneously, acting as a small gateway. It is designed for engineers who need a “set it and forget it” interface that prioritizes data reliability over flashy graphics.
Application Cases
HVAC Systems: Monitoring temperature setpoints and alarm statuses in building automation.
Pumping Stations: Controlling flow rates and viewing pressure bargraphs in water treatment facilities.
Material Handling: Interfacing with small conveyors or lift systems for simple start/stop and fault diagnostics.
Packaging Machinery: Managing recipe selection for small-scale labeling or capping machines.
Installation and Maintenance
Installation
Panel Cutout: Prepare a cutout of $136 \times 96$ mm.
Mounting: Insert the unit into the cutout and secure it using the provided mounting clips. Ensure the gasket is compressed to maintain the IP65 seal.
Power: Connect a 24V DC supply. Use a dedicated ground wire to the chassis terminal to ensure stable communication.
Maintenance
Battery: The ePAD04-0046 does not have a battery-backed Real-Time Clock (RTC). If time-stamping is required, it must be synced with the connected PLC.
Software: Configuration is handled via UniOP Designer (Version 6 or later).
Cleaning: Clean the front overlay with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the protective membrane over the LCD.
